ARE SOME PEOPLE BEING TOO HARSH ON KEN LAY EVEN IN DEATH?

“HE ESCAPED THE JUSTICE HE WAS DUE…”

The Insite had a discussion with a friend about how the public is reacting to Ken Lay’s death. If you look at the various TV reports and the radio call in shows some may be shocked at just how unforgiving even after death some in the public can be. I heard one woman say she wanted Ken Lay to suffer in prison because death is just too easy. Some were saying he escaped the justice that was due him by dying. But some say they know how many people were harmed by the company Ken Lay lead but where is the compassion for children who have lost a father and a wife who’s lost a husband. What about the millions Lay donated to hundreds of charities around the country. Did that mean anything. I’m asking are some people being to harsh on Ken Lay even in death? I’d love to here your comments on this. Just click the comment section below and leave your opinion…

He should burn in hell for all the hell he caused. I don’t think you can be too easy on any criminal. The judge and the jury spoke and both Lay and Skilling were guilty. Why should anyone show sympathy for two rich bastards who robbed people of the retirement and savings.

While I’m in general agreement with the sentiments expressed above, there is something interesting about the way people in public life have reacted. George W. Bush had nothing to offer despite all Lay’s years of support and hard work on Bush’s behalf. Sheila Jackson-lee, as the Chronicle noted, was the only elected official he helped who offered words of condolence. While I strongly disagreed with Sheila’s long time advocacy on Lay’s behalf, her statement was a sign of class that the current President most clearly and pathetically lacks. He is as tasteless and classless and mean spirited as the leadership of Enron and his failure to even acknowledge the death of someone who, despite the criminal activity, stood by him for many years is a clear illustration of that.

Some people may be surprised to see Ken Lay in heaven. That man did wrong and in Gods holy eyes he has paid the ultimate price.

There is also a theory that he may have faked his death to avoid the sentense. Dya think that plausible?
