MICHAEL GILDON’S QUESTION OF THE DAY!

ARE PARENTS TAKING THE EASY WAY OUT BY DRUGGING THEIR CHILDREN?

Back in the day kids were whipped (spanked) with whatever was in reach if they misbehaved. Yes, I admit there were times when I had to go outside and choose my own switch. Of course, I took my time and I always chose the flimsiest one I could find. Nowadays when I’m out in public I see kids acting a “donkey” (bad as hell) and their parents just tolerate this foolishness. I know people (adults) who use Ambien, Valium, Xanax and other psychiatric medication just to calm their nerves from a stressful day. Adults are able to make choices and bear the consequences. But what concerns me is the rise in children being placed on medication. Parents are quick to say that their child is hyper (ADD/ADHD). When in fact they are BAD and may just need an old fashion whipping(spanking). Do you think parents are coping out by medicating their children?

Yes they are using to much damn medicine! If yuo go to a school or summer camp it’s pretty disturbing to see at least half of the kids getting meds at lunch! I have a med that’s a lot cheaper than any pill- it’s leather and fits in my belt loop! It also has a buckle on it.

I agree kids are diagnosised with too many conditions these days. Prompting parents to sholve pills down there throats rather than spanking them. Sad thing about it, kids today, know they have leverage and will threaten you if you whip them. So, pills become the alternative to whipping your child and going to jail. Sad but true.
