It was clear by listening to KPRC talk radio this morning that New Black Panther Party leader Quanell X and Conservative politician and radio host Michael Berry have buried the hatchet. They are working together to get the word out about the victims of a possible serial killer in Acres Homes. Both implied that the lack of attention brought to the recent 6 murders of women in the community is likely the result of racism or the public and the media not caring. If you’ll remember the two high profile and very opinionated leaders fell out several years ago when Berry failed to support an issue at city council that explored reparations for African Americans. Quanell X said very publicly that Michael Berry had lost his ghetto pass as a result of the disagreement. Apparently, all of that is in the past and Berry has his ghetto pass back. The two men talked as if they were old friends just catching up on the radio Friday morning. But seriously, this issue of a serial killer is what likely made the men put their differences aside for a bigger purpose. What do you think about the serial killer issue as well as Berry and Quanell X working together again?

‘Ghetto Pass?’ That’s got to be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard in a long time. Does X actually think he can tell people who can and cannot come into a neighborhood? Pretty arrogant and insulting to me.
Anyway, I remember in a class we talked about a serial killer several years back that was targeting black prostitutes and I was amazed that I never read or heard anything about it in the news. So that made me wonder, what does that say about the media? When the first body turned up, there was an investigation, and second, and so on. Now that there are several bodies, the media takes notice, yet the usual suspects are coming out and saying the police don’t care about black victims when they have been investigating since day one.
Anyway, for once I will agree with X, the killer(s) will not be caught by the police alone. They need the community to help them and provide information. I feel that the killer is a local up there and knows his/their way around. Maybe X can use his influence to help catch a killer and unite police and citizens instead of dividing them for his spot in the camera.

If no one cared then why is this a story now? Because people DO care. SOmetimes it takes a while for the authorities to realize they are dealing with a serial killer, especially when it may involve prostitutes- it”s just a fact of life.

With the high doallar cars and fine suits I think Quannel is in no position to revoke anyones ghetto pass.

How does Quanell pay for the gas-guzzling Hummer and those fine suits? Does he have a real job? Does he shake down big companies by threatening to picket in front of their office. Inquiring minds want to know. Are all the investigative journalists in this town following Jody Tollett around with hidden cameras to determine how much he drinks at lunch?

Anonymous, why are you so concerned with his suits and cars? What are you doing to help the people he’s helping. Dressing down… Driving down? [smile] He’s a minister. How do most ministers get their money? (That’s a whole ‘nother topic… LOL ) And Jason– I love it when certain people PLAY dumb. You know what he meant… be serious.

  6. Anonymous July 21, 2006 8:02 pm

    Where is he a minister?

  7. Anonymous July 22, 2006 3:07 pm

Ike, I heard Qunell X tried to get you fired last week. Put that story on the insight. Keep it real…

what kind of a minister is he? I’ll tell you, one who has a finace’, a girlfriend currently pregnant, around 6 kids, oh my bad 5 cause one recently passed away this year? i wouldn’t dare follow this man’s teachings, words, or television interviews, God Bless the ones who do, it says alot about their character.

I use to work for Mr X and he did seem to have alot of women but if he gets help out there for the community, why does his person life matter? he is still a man.

  11. Anonymous July 24, 2006 7:35 pm

his lifestyle really dont matter but because he is a public figure, he is prone to Criticism, so if he takes the job, he gets what comes with it. he does do alot for the community but why is the QUESTION?
    how much does it pay?

  12. Anonymous July 26, 2006 12:49 pm

Why don’t the police do the cat and mouse game anymore? If they really wanted to stop the killing, they would do more than put up a sketch that no one is really sure of anyway.
I for one, believe it is someone in the community that everyone knows well and probably sees on a regular basis. The person seems to comfortable in the area. Most serial killers move the bodies around, this person knows the victims and their families.

How can X issue ghetto passes when he just moved into a lilly white neighborhood north of town? And by the way…a half million dollar home. He’s not ghetto he’s telling one thing and living another.

  14. Anonymous July 29, 2006 5:49 pm

well he’ll need that home for all his kids. look up the home, it’s probably not in his name.

  15. Anonymous July 30, 2006 6:33 am

ok it doesn’t matter where he live, its where he came from and he was in the hood, once u grow from there u dont go back, your there for your people and that is what counts. so what if the home isn’t in his name, so what if he has alot of kids, so what. but mr x should practice what he preaches
