MARIA AND ATOM ARE HEADED FOR THE DOOR!

A NEW MORNING TEAM ON 104 JULY 24!

Local radio personalities Atom Smasher and Maria Todd have been ousted from their posts as hosts of 104 KRBE’s morning radio show.
Citing market research and “evolving market conditions,” Cumulus Media Partners Market Manager Patrick Fant says a new morning team will greet listeners on July 24. Atlanta-based Cumulus Media owns KRBE.
Smasher, previously the afternoon radio host for the popular station, took over the morning slot last year when radio personality Sam Malone left the station to pursue a morning position at rival station 96.5 KHMX.

MY SISTER IS GOING TO KILL ME!

My nephew Michael came to spend a couple of days with me here in Houston. During an outing in North Houston he found what many of us would call Grillz. He is purchasing a pair. What in the world. My sister is going to kill me when he gets back to Louisiana with bling bling all hooked to his dentures. I should’ve intervened but I was too busy looking at the fake Izod (the little alligator polos) shirts. Needless to say, I didn’t buy one and by now you’ve figured out we were in a flea market. Yes, The Insite went to the flea market. See the actual purchased grill above.

MICHAEL GILDON’S QUESTION OF THE DAY!

WOULD YOU HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY DONE? I’M SURE THE INSITE WANTS TO LOOK LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON!

I was watching a rerun of my favorite show Nip/Tuck and I pondered the thought of if I could changed my physical appearance what would it be. Hhmm for beginners I could take a few off the stomach and add a hair implant….I fear the day I look down and won’t be able to see my (sic) feet…And I would love to bring the Flat-Top, Whoop or the Shag back in style…Moving right along, has anyone ever had any plastic surgery done? If so what was it and the cost?? For those poor folks like myself if you could make some changes what would it be and why??? The former president of TSU Dr. Priscilla Slade – please don’t feel ashamed to speak up I’m sure you had some work done. And I’m sure Isiah wants to look like Michael Jackson…

(THE VIEWS EXPRESSED IN THIS COMMENTARY ARE NOT NECESSARILY THOSE OF THE INSITE BUT THAT OF THE GUEST BLOGGER)

WOULD YOU HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY DONE? I’M SURE MICHAEL GILDON WANTS TO LOOK LIKE PIMP C!Gildon can talk about me all he wants but here’s his grade school picture with the hair he now longs for and looking a whole lot like Pimp C the Houston rapper below with the teddy bear…

SAY IT AIN’T SO – TROUBLE IN HELL!

COULD THIS BE THE BIG BREAK UP FOR HELLFIRE REVIVAL?

It appears there’s a shake up going on with the Housotn based band Hellfire Revival. One of the members sent me this email informing The Insite it is all but over:

Hells Bells, Say it Ain’t So!

Let me start by clearing up any rumors about Hellfire Revival. They’re all true! (Yes, even that one!). I officially resigned as guitar player and Promoter. Tommy is re-tooling the lineup, and I don’t expect it will take long to replace me. Any messages or questions for Hellfire Revival or Tommy Clark can be sent to: tc_ac2001@yahoo.com or go to www.myspace.com/hellfirerevival .

THE FORGOTTEN PEOPLE!

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET OUT OF HERE!

If you watched FOX 26 news Friday night you may be very familiar with this story. 21 families have been living in the heat and dark for nearly two weeks. It came after a June 27 fire gutted a portion of the St. Joseph’s apartments in southeast Houston. As a result of the fire that also claimed the lives of three young children, 21 poor families were left without power. Vietnam native Dau Nguyen, an elderly woman, says she doesn’t know how she’s gonna survive if she doesn’t get some help. They’re hoping the Red Cross or some other social organization can help them out. I was floored to learn that all of these families including seniors and little children were in the dark for 10 days and counting without any significant help to get them into some air conditioning. A group called The Boat People SOS is also trying to find help to get the mostly Vietnamese residents out of the burned out complex. Let me know what you think about this sad situation. If you would like to help contact The Boat People SOS…and tell them The Insite sent you: info@bpsos.org

BLOGGERS: MAYOR DESCRIBED HIM SIMPLY AS COLORFUL!

It appears the head of Houston’s Convention and Visitor’s bureau could have a very rough week with a special news report coming out about him and according to our friends at BLOGHOUSTON.NET Jordy Tollett is not one of Mayor Bill White’s favorite department heads. According to the bloggers the Mayor described him simply as colorful. All of this also comes on the heels of the Essence Fest fiasco. See previous posts for more details and link to bloghouston.net for more on their article.
