GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS AT THE CHOCOLATE BAYOU FESTIVAL!

THERE WAS A BIG FIGHT BUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WERE RAISED!

Saturday night police were called in to contain what was reportedly a ‘large fight’ at The 4th Annual Chocolate Bayou Festival. The event held in Sunnyside Park is designed by council member Ada Edwards to raise funds for scholarships in the predominantly African American community. Police say no one was shot or seriously injured in the brawl. The good news is the event was still able to raise $13,000 in scholarships for students in the area. District D council member Edwards said “you can’t predict everything…people enjoyed it to the end of the concert.” She also says the event will be back for a fifth year. The O’Jays and Houston’s LeToya Luckett were the headliners this year.
