IS THE DAY OF THE DEMOCRAT OVER IN TEXAS?

CHRIS BELL WAS NEARLY BROKE!

The Insite was surprised to hear that the main democratic gubernatorial candidate vying for Texas Governor Chris Bell was almost out of money this soon in the race. Campaign finance reports show he had only $197,000 in his war chest 13 days ago. The former Congressman’s saving grace was a $1 million dollar donation this week from Houston trial lawyer John O’Quinn. But the other candidates including the independents had more than Bell in their war chests. Republican Rick Perry’s campaign had $9.2 million in cash for the final six weeks of the campaign and Carol Keeton Strayhorn had $5 million. Kinky Friedman also entered the home stretch with $827,830. As the democratic candidate should Bell have had more cash in the final stretch of the race or is it clear Texas is no longer interested in a democrat for Governor? The Insite would love to hear your opinion on this…
