CRACKHOUSE TORN DOWN IN FIFTH WARD!

ANSWERING THE CALL OF THE COMMUNITY!

After years of complaining residents in the fifth ward on Lyons Avenue got what they wanted. The city, with the help of council member Jarvis Johnson and Asst. HPD Chief Brian Lumpkin, tore down an old abandoned structure. The business was once the old Blue Trianlge nightspot and also a boarding house. But residents say in recent times it had become a crackhouse. So the city’s neighborhood protection came in and demolished the structure at a cost of $25,000. Residents in fifth ward call it a blessing. Local business owner Eugene Davenport says he’s glad the city took action or the old structure could have threatened his new restaurant next door called 3 Dynamite Brothers Creole and Soulfood. It may take at least a week to erase any trace of the old house in the 4900 block of Lyons Avenue!
