THE INSITE’S FAVORITE EATING SPOT IN BATON ROUGE GUTTED BY FIRE!

I MUST’VE JINXED THE EATERY BY TALKING ABOUT IT ON THE INSITE!

It was just two months ago when I wrote about my favorite eating spot in my hometown of Baton Rouge, Tony’s Seafood. It must’ve been bad luck because the business was gutted by fire:

News Report: A large fire erupted inside the popular Tony’s Seafood on Plank Road just before midnight on Thursday.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they say they saw smoke pouring from the right side of the main building, in the area marked “Louisiana Fish Fry Products. That area is just to the right of the main building where patrons buy their food.

The smoke steadily increased and the blaze soon grew to a two-alarm fire. The owners arrived a short time later and were able to open up some doors and give firefighters greater access to fight the flames. Still, firefighters say it was a difficult fire to control, and at times crews had to be pulled out of the building so other crews could fight the fire on the roof.

Fire officials have not given any word yet on the exact cause of the fire. Investigators, however, do say the fire looks to be very severe.
