WHEN IT WAS ALL OVER MY PARTNER AND I WERE DEAD!
It was a very painful day on Friday afternoon. The Insite along with several other reporters participated in a course put on by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. It was designed to give members of the media a fresh perspective on what Harris County deputies go through on a daily basis. And believe me I have a new respect for law enforcement officers. We were given the chance to go through a simulated active crime scene where there was a crook in an office and we had to apprehend the suspect. It didn’t go well. Ted Oberg from KTRK served as my partner and when it was all over we were both dead. Stephen Dean from KPRC and Dan Lauck from KHOU also took part in the event. And thanks to Lt. John Martin, Mike Faas, Ken Welch and the crew from the sheriff’s department who all did a great job of hosting the local broadcasters. Here are some photos I snapped at the all day event!
