Long time City of Houston Public Works spokesperson Wes Johnson says he’s retiring in a year. Johnson has been the voice and face of the city department for the last ten years. He tells The Insite a big part of his decision was based on him recently getting married. And Johnson has a great story to tell about that. He says he recently reunited with a high school girlfriend after not seeing her for 34 years. The couple said their nuptials 3 years ago. Johnson says he’s likely moving to some small town and will leave his city hall suits behind. Former HPD public information staffer Alvin Wright will fill Johnson’s seat. Congratulations Wes and enjoy your retirement!
Note: Johnson was much happier than this picture appears!
