25 YEARS OF CIVIL RIGHTS SERVICE TO HOUSTON PAYS OFF!

BACK IN THE LIMELIGHT AND PUBLIC LIFE AS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE HOUSTON NAACP!

Congratulations to Carol Mims Galloway. The former public official has been elected the new President of the Houston branch of the NAACP. That pushes her back into the limelight and public life. Galloway tells the Insite “I’m very excited. I’ve been working with the group for 25 years and this is quite an honor.” She became a major player in the organization when she was tapped by the national office back in 1979 to merge 4 Houston branches into one. The former district B council member and school board member says she’s been active and involved in the organization ever since. She’s replacing Fran Gentry as head of the Houston civil rights group. If you’re interested Galloway’s installation ceremony will take place January 7, 2007 at Good Hope Baptist Church. It’s located at 3015 N. MacGregor Way and it will be held at 4 p.m. Congratulations Mrs. Galloway on your election and appointment!
