TWO DECADES OF CONVENTIONS IN HOUSTON!

The management of the George R. Brown Convention Center is planning a major celebration as the facility which opened in 1987 turns two decades old. The facility has hosted hundreds of major events from the 2006 Quilt convention to Super Bowl and the Houston Grand Prix. There’s a long list of events scheduled for 2007 to celebrate the centers birthday. Here are some facts on the GRB:

  • 1.2 million square feet of flexible exhibit, meeting and registration space
  • 7 exhibit halls; 862,000 square feet of exhibit hall space
  • Contiguous space on Level 1 is 639,000 square feet
  • Contiguous space on Level 3 is 223,000 square feet
  • 99,000 square feet of registration area on Level 2
