The Houston police departments South Central substation just off Gray in downtown Houston is finally open. This comes after The Insite learned a contractor failed to install the proper wiring in the facility the first time. What does that mean? Police officers say the building was constructed without wiring for phone or computer lines. That would be the stone age. HPD confirmed this several months ago. So for a while the building just sat there waiting on the proper wiring. Apparently, the wiring is complete because officers were seen inside using the phone. By the way, I was told the proper wiring didn’t cost the city any money because it was the contractors fault!
