SHELL OIL PRESIDENT TO GUIDE GHP’S BOARD!

JOHN HOFMEISTER APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD!

More than 1,500 people watched Wednesday as John Hofmeister, president and country chair, Shell Oil Company was installed as chairman of the Board of Directors for the Greater Houston Partnership during the Partnership’s Annual Meeting. Hofmeister replaces outgoing chairman Chip Carlisle, president, Wells Fargo Texas. Hofmeister’s message for the Annual Meeting focused on turning the vision of the Partnership’s 10-year strategic plan into reality. The strategic plan outlines aggressive goals that have been set to make the Houston region a true magnet for business, including contributing to the creation of 600,000 net new jobs; $60 billion in capital investment and $225 billion in foreign trade. “The key for this year is to building upon the accomplishments of 2006,” Hofmeister said. “There’s no need to recalibrate or revisit the strategy. It’s in place. It’s working. And it will continue to be our blueprint for the future.”
