THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT SUBJECT OF SELF IMPOSED AUDIT!

THE STUDY CHIEF HAROLD HURTT ASKED TO BE DONE!

A CITY AUDIT REVEALS THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT MAY BE ALLOWING SOME OFFICERS TO WORK TOO MANY HOURS. CITY CONTROLLER ANNISE PARKER RELEASED A STUDY THAT SHOWS THERE IS NO SYSTEM IN PLACE THAT WOULD MONITOR IF OFFICERS WORKED OVER 80 HOURS A WEEK…THAT WOULD INCLUDE EXTRA DUTY JOBS. PARKER SAYS A REVIEW OF SOME HPD OVER TIME REVEALED SOME COPS MADE WELL OVER 100- THOUSAND DOLLARS IN OVERTIME PAY. MEANWHILE, A SPOKESPERSON WITH HPD – JOHN CANNON- SAYS MEASURES ARE ALREADY BEING TAKEN TO ENSURE OFFICERS DON’T BREAK THE POLICY OF WORKING MORE THAN 80 HOURS A WEEK. THIS IS AN AUDIT CHIEF HAROLD HURTT REQUESTED!
