I was doing some winter time spring cleaning when I ran across some of my old business cards that brought back lots of memories. They go back to 1989 with KQXL when I was a News Director of 3 radio stations in my hometown while in college. I also found one of my worst memories – it’s a business card when I was the only African American and the first in about 20 years to work at a pop/CHR radio station in my hometown and they thought Isiah Carey was simply too boring. So they hired a consultant and turned me into ‘Jackson Knight’ and stuck me on a Midnight to 6 am shift. That was just cruel and unusual punishment. But they say what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. I can feel the muscles now from that experience!
