Connecting with the Diversity in Our Community to be facilitated by
Emmy-Award Winning Broadcast Journalist, Jerome Gray.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. the Honey Brown Hope Foundation and SSLW will host a community forum to share how the Islamic Society of Greater Houston South Zone turned a recent and thoughtless vandalism act into an act of compassion for a misguided Dulles High School Student. The community forum, “Connecting with the Diversity in Our Community,” will be held at 303 Texas Parkway (Judge Clouser’s Court), Missouri City, Texas 77489. It is designed to help members in the Islamic community regain a sense of safety while promoting mutual respect among the diverse citizens of Fort Bend County.

The following panelists will share dialog about connecting the community with its diversity: Ms. Rogene Gee Calvert, Vice President of Economic Development, OCA National (AKA Organization of Chinese Americans); The Honorable Joel C. Clouser, Justice of the Peace, Precinct Two; The Honorable John Healey, District Attorney of Fort Bend County; Mr. Lance Hindt, Principal of Dulles High School; Mr. Jawald Iqbal, Director of the Islamic Society of Greater Houston South Zone; The Honorable Dora Olivo, State Representative, District 27; Mr. Azhar Shah, Islamic Society of Greater Houston South Zone Committee Member and radio host for KILE 1560; and Mrs. Teana Watson, Attorney at Law.
