VERY SAD NEWS TO REPORT ABOUT THE 96.1 THA ZONE FAMILY!

KEVIN ‘K.P.’ ENER: 1971 – 2007!

It’s with great sadness that I must report the founder of 96.1 Tha Zone has died. Kevin ‘K.P.’ Ener has been seen here on The Insite several times as the owner of the Acres Homes community radio station. I received a call just before 6 am this morning telling me that K.P. died around 2 am while at home. He had been battling pancreatitis. The last conversation I had with Kevin was about a month ago. He told me he was not giving up on his radio station. As many of you remember it was shut down by the FCC several months ago because there was no license to operate. Kevin said if he couldn’t get a license real soon he was going to go back on the air in March without it. He is survived by his children and wife Felicia (far right) who is pictured above. Felicia says she’s going to push on for Kevin by trying to get 96.1 back on the air. My condolences to the family. Kevin was 36 years old!
