BUN B OUTSELLS MAYOR BILL WHITE, BARBARA BUSH AND CYNTHIA COOPER!

STANDING ROOM ONLY AT THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS!

Nationally known recording artist Bun B became the first rapper ever to be honored at The Houston Museum of Fine Arts. And that wasn’t his only first. The highly sought after hip hop star was the first ever Houstonian to sell out the facility. The series, which recognizes famous Houstonians, allows the honorees to invite fans and friends to buy tickets to a showing of their favorite film. So far none of the local Houston celebrities who have been recognized over the last couple of years were able to sell out the museum’s theater. The list of those honored have been Bill White, Barbara Bush and Cynthia Cooper to name a few. Here are some pictures The Insite snapped after briefly sticking my head into the event. Legendary hip hop figure D-J Kay Slay was flown in from New York for the showing of Bun’s favorite film ‘Style Wars’. The documentary takes a look at the rise of hip hop in New York back in 1982!
