Harris County Judge Robert Eckels will announce his plans for when he leaves the office of County Judge tomorrow. Eckels will be available to the media immediately after Commissioners Court adjourns. “There has been a lot of speculation about what I will be doing once I leave the county judge’s office”, said Eckels. “After deliberating the options and discussing these options with my family this weekend, I have made a decision and wish to inform the citizens of Harris County.” Eckels was first elected county judge in November 1994. Before being elected judge, Eckels served in the Texas State House for twelve years.
