I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across an issue of BRE in the FOX 26 newsroom. It’s a magazine that focuses on issues affecting urban radio – or at least it used to be. When I first began my broadcasting career in adio back in the late 80’s I read it all the time. It was initially called ‘Black Radio Exclusive’ but now it’s been renamed to Black Renaissance Exclusive. Anyway, I started thumbing through the pages and landed on an article that talked about the new James Prince (Rap-a-Lot Records – Houston) venture in the Fifth Ward. Prince is building an addition to his Boxing Complex which will be dedicated to the youth of the area. After school classes and stuff like that. Well, as I looked at the pictures I realized those were the same pictures I took at the groundbreaking with the Insite-o-cam. So I briefly scanned the bottom of the photos and there was no credit for The Insite. My big question now is should I file a lawsuit to get my credit and get paid while I’m at it? Just kidding – I’m glad the pictures I snapped are good enough to make a national magazine but I sure wish they would’ve given me credit!
