The Texas Southern University Debate Team has something to be proud of – they brought home a second place trophy in duo-dramatic interpretation from the 17th Annual International Forensic Association Tournament held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In doing so, the team continued its uninterrupted winning streak that stretches across its history of 57 years under the leadership of Dr. Thomas F. Freeman, distinguished professor of forensics, who is in his 58th year as a full-time professor at the University. The TSU team was the only HBCU among the participating schools.

The following students are on the winning team – Coquise Cooksey; James Hollins; Kateira Winfrey; Aleisha Readaye; Emerald Merrell; Seth Hunter; Angel Palacios; Jade Cooper; D’Antres Love; Camille Davis; Jared Terry and Christina Knotts. The 18th Annual International Tournament, to which the team expects to receive an invitation, will be held in London, England, the second week in March 2008.
