DOUGLAS: THIS IS THE FIRST TIME TSU HAS BEEN BAILED OUT!

HE SAYS THE PROBLEMS TSU FACES ARE COMMON AMONG STATE UNIVERSITIES!

Former TSU President and now Professor of Law Dr. James Douglas spent Thursday morning defending the university. On the FOX 26 morning show Douglas denies claims by Governor Rick Perry’s office that the school has been bailed out of it’s financial problems year after year. Douglas said this is the first time in history he can remember the school is requiring bail out of a financial problems. This comes on the heels of the indictment of former TSU president Dr. Priscilla Slade. Douglas went on to say issues such as deferred maintenance cost is common at most state funded universities around Texas. Douglas served as president of TSU from 1995 – 1999.
