HOUSTON’S OWN ISAIAH WASHINGTON WON’T BE GETTING AN EMMY THIS YEAR!

DID HE DO THE RIGHT THING?

His publicist is now confirming what had been reported last week — that “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Isaiah Washington will not submit his work on the show for consideration
for an Emmy this year. Howard Bragman says the actor won’t seek a nomination this year because, as Bragman put it, “It’s all about the acting, not the awards.” Of course, because of Washington’s mouth, it hasn’t even been all about the acting for him. He sparked
a firestorm by directing an anti-gay slur against co-star T.R. Knight during an on-set dispute with another actor. And when he repeated the slur backstage after the Golden Globes Awards in
January, the controversy flared anew. In the end, Washington admitted using the slur and sought counseling. Washington hadn’t been nominated for his work on the medical drama the previous two years it had been on the air.
