21 GUNS STOLEN FROM THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT EVIDENCE ROOM!

THE CHIEF: EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT!

A supervisor and another administrator who both worked in the Houston Police Department property room have been placed on administrative leave after 21 guns were stolen from the room.

At a news conference Wednesday evening, HPD Chief Harold Hurtt said his staff had begun an internal investigation into the property room theft.

“At this time we are not ruling out anyone as a suspect,” Hurtt said.

Hurtt said two new officers have been assigned to the property room.

He said two of the guns were recovered after they were found on suspects who were later arrested on the street.
