IT’S TIME FOR LOCAL STATIONS TO PULL OUT THE BIG GUNS!

IT’S THEIR TIME TO SHINE SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING WRONG!

If you’re not in television – you don’t likely know the month May means it’s time for sweeps. It’s one of four months a year that television stations pull out all the stops to win in the ratings. That means you will be seeing a lot more of the Investigative reporters you don’t see on a daily basis like The Insite or Mary Benton or Phil Archer or Jeff McShan. We’re all what you call general assignment or beat reporters. We cover news when it happens or stick to a beat like HPD for Jeff McShan or City Hall for Miya Shay or Doug Miller. But it’s the people you don’t see that should have you worried if you’ve done something wrong. They’re the investigative reporters. They spend most of the year preparing for May, July, November or February. All sweeps/ratings months. So when you turn on your television in May prepare to see more of Carolyn Canville and Randy Wallace from FOX 26. Stephen Dean, Amy Davis and Robert Arnold from KPRC. Wayne Dolcefino from KTRK. And Mark Greenblatt and Jeremy Rogalski from KHOU. Between these guys they have more awards than you can imagine. So look forward to seeing them a lot more this week and all of the month of May!
