WILL IT WORK TO CLEAN UP HOUSTON APARTMENT COMPLEXES?

The Houston Police Department will provide the Blue Star Multi-Housing
Program Phase One: Eight-Hour Manager’s Training Seminar TODAY
(Tuesday May 8) at the Texas Cooperation Extension-Harris County, 3033
Bear Creek Drive, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Blue Star Multi-Housing Program is a partnership between the
Houston Police Department, the owners and managers of rental property
and the residents to keep drugs and other illegal activity out of their
community.

The Blue Star Manager’s Training is the first phase of a three phase
program.

Phase 1: The property manager and staff attend an eight-hour seminar.
Phase 2: The property will meet minimum CPTED requirements.
Phase 3: The Houston Police Department conducts a resident safety event
onsite.

The Blue Star Multi-Housing Manager’s training will cover such topics
as Understanding Crime Prevention, CPTED concepts, and Combating Crime
Problems.

The Houston Police Department’s Blue Star Program’s goal is to
improve the quality of life for residents of multi-housing communities
through the development of a coalition between owners, management,
residents and the police.
