DAYS LONG GONE – WE’LL NEVER, EVER, EVER, SEE THESE PRICES AGAIN!

LEONARD’S DEPARTMENT STORES!

I was at the downtown library on Wednesday when I ran across an old Houston newspaper. I had a chance to see the prices of some common products in 1959. It was a time when I wasn’t born but I longed for those days. I found an ad for the old Leonard’s department store in Houston and the prices were great. The newspaper advertised pajamas for $1.99, Corduroy vest for $1.00, women’s skirts for $1.00 and the most expensive item was a transistor radio going for a whopping $26.95. The irony is – the product that can be found for a dollar now is a radio. They’re almost a thing of the past with the development of Ipods!
