There will be a runoff for the seat left vacant by Shelley Sekula Gibbs on Houston’s city council. In the bid to capture the seat will be Melissa Noriega (HISD Educator) and Roy Morales (Ret. Lt. Col.). The two garnered the most votes in the Saturday night special election. The second race will likely be in June. Below is the breakdown of votes in the special election with 100% of precincts reporting!
