After months of investigation the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the F.B.I. have made several arrests regarding a plot to murder a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy. Investigators believe the suspects intended on using an electronic tracking device along with an Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D.) to execute their plan. Investigators also believe the suspects were retaliating against the unnamed deputy for prior arrests and investigations involving the suspects and their criminal enterprises. The lengthy and very tedious investigation was a joint effort conducted by the M.C.S.O Detective Division, M.C.S.O. Special Investigations Unit, The F.B.I. Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. Evidence gathered in the investigation was presented to a Montgomery County Grand Jury on Tuesday June 5, 2007. Indictments were true billed and suspects were arrested on those indictments. All subjects arrested are being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail. This investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be forthcoming.
