MORE CAMERAS IN HOUSTON?
The city is considering more surveillance cameras for downtown Houston. Some feel like this would be big brother watching while others say it’s to secure our city. Do you think it’s a good idea? Here’s the latest from Houston’s Public Safety Committee:
Public Safety and Homeland Security
The Committee discussed the Police Department’s proposal to install surveillance cameras on Main Street. If successful, the police chief would expand the program around the city. The Police Department also reported to the Committee that it has made several changes in its crime data reporting. The department says that records management has greatly improved and that most data now is no older than 24 hours.
