INSITE CORRESPONDENT MIKE FOSTER IN LOUISIANA: SAYING GOOD BYE TO A BATON ROUGE LANDMARK!

THE BROADMOOR THEATRE SELLS EVERYTHING INSIDE!

Insite correspondent Mike Foster spent the weekend in Baton Rouge which happens to be the Insite’s hometown. Foster made a stop by the old Broadmoor Theatre where the owner was selling off everything. The theatre opened back in 1965 with only one screen but ultimately upgraded to four. Because of multiplexes and wanning business the movie house eventually became a dollar cinema to survive. But even that couldn’t keep the Florida Boulevard theatre from going under in 2004. So, on Saturday Foster and his wife Kim visited the facility for the final curtain. Everything in the building was sold. Foster said there were popcorn machines, movie cells, theater seats, marquis letters, and the list goes on. The Insite spent many a day as a kid at this theatre. I really hate to see it go but all things must change with time. Great job Mike and Kim on covering a piece of Louisiana history!
