THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE SLIPPED IN AND OUT OF HOUSTON!

HE WANTED TO KNOW THE NEEDS OF HOUSTON!

The Insite hears Mayor Bill White had a closed door meeting with Presidential candidate Barack Obama at city hall Monday afternoon. It wasn’t until the Senator left the building that the Insite’s phone started ringing. However, KTRK busy city hall reporter Miya Shay was able to snag an interview with the ‘rock star’ candidate. I’m told he spent around 20 minutes chatting it up with Mayor White. Obama was in San Antonio on Sunday for a rally and decided to drop in on the Mayor before hitting the campaign trail again. Obama met with White before back during Katrina and he had nothing but praise for the Mayor. Now, I’m told the meeting focused on Houston’s needs and how Obama could help address some of those issues here in the Bayou City. After the meeting – the Senator stopped and posed for a picture with Terence Fontaine who’s the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the city. I think as the presidential campaign moves on we will see Mayor Bill White getting several more visits from national candidates. After all, this is the fourth largest city in the country!
