CELEBRATING A DIFFERENT KIND OF INDEPENDENCE IN HOUSTON!
It was a different kind of Independence for a group of women in Houston today. About two dozen of former prostitutes, drug users and others with vices gathered at the home of Kathryn Griffin. They’re apart of Griffin’s ‘Been There, Done That’ foundation. The woman have managed to turn their lives around from a life Griffin says was headed in the wrong direction. Sheila Reed was Griffin’s first client and she says her life is now in the hands of God. The women celebrated with a barbecue and testimonials. They also heard speeches from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Houston City Councilman Peter Brown. The Insite also popped his head and said hello. Many of the women also are apart of Bonita House. A center set up for women who are also trying to turn their lives around. Present at the event: Peter Brown, Kathryn Griffin, Chris Brown, Damon Williams and a host of others!
