THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH GRANT FOR HARRIS COUNTY!

A GIFT FROM THE HOGG FOUNDATION!

On, Tuesday, July 10, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett will announce the Children and Youth Mental Health Planning Grant awarded by The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. The Joint City/County Commission on Children (JCCCC) is receiving $99,970 to develop a ten-year strategic plan to improve the delivery of mental health services to Harris County children and their families.

The JCCCC strategic plan will include an assessment of the community’s current needs and resources. Additionally, the JCCCC is to partner with stakeholders to map strategies for providing effective prevention and treatment for the area’s 1.5 million children.

Judge Emmett will be accompanied by with Dr. King Davis, Executive Director of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. The Hogg Foundation is an administrative unit of the University of Texas at Austin. The Hogg Foundation was established by Will and Ima Hogg, children of Texas governor and businessman, James Stephen Hogg.
