IS IT TIME FOR A FULL AND COMPLETE MAKE OVER AT HOBBY AIRPORT?

80 YEARS OF SERVICE AND IT SHOWS!

William Hobby Airport opened in Houston back in 1927 as a private landing field. Over the years it has undergone several name changes from Houston Metro Airport to the Howard Hughes Airport. Eventually the city settled on Hobby. I was there on Wednesday and it is one of the most depressing airports I’ve seen. It was dark, dank, drab and very boring. Many of the news stands and eating spots are in terrible condition. Some of the arrival and departure screens were on their last leg and the lack of security is incredible. I thought maybe because there aren’t many if any international flights. But what about domestic terrorism. But that’s beside the point. It’s an airport full of history but it has yet to catch up with the modern era. Is it time for a make over for the airport 1300 acres airport? The Insite would love to hear your opinion!
