AIRPORT OFFICIALS DISAGREE WITH THE INSITE’S DESCRIPTION OF HOBBY!

I’M INVITED TO GET A BETTER LOOK AT THE AIRPORT!

Once again I’m glad to see how responsive city of Houston officials can be. The Insite is hearing from Hobby Airport officials who say my description of the aging facility is not quite right. I wrote here on Thursday I thought the facility was in bad shape. But some are disagreeing. I’ve even been asked to take a tour to see more of the airport. To be fair here’s what airport officials are saying about Hobby:

If you want to talk about Hobby let me know. We’ll show you around, I know you’ll want to get the real story out. Hobby has a brand new concourse serving all the airlines. It has new screens, is very bright, and has a number of restaurants and retailers. I’m assuming you did not go past the security checkpoint. There are a number of improvements still to come to the public areas of the airport (airline counters, baggage claim area etc.) The current terminal building was opened in 1954. As a previous blogger stated, any improvements are done in coordination and agreement with the airlines that have to pay for them. Hobby is mostly a low-cost airline airport.
