The Insite had a chance to speak with several sources who claim to be very upset with management over at the Houston Comets. Those individuals say some key figures allegedly found themselves disappointed during the current formation of the new management team at the Comets. The Insite hears former Globetrotter Reggie Dixon was promised the coaching position with the Comets but turned it down when he was offered only half of what was promised. Darryl Linden the former Vice President of Corporate Development is no longer on the staffing list and I hear he’s extremely upset with his experience at the Comets. And finally, sources say former NAACP President Howard Jefferson is hot under the collar after allegedly playing an instrumental role in helping obtain financing for the venture (Comets transaction) but failed to get a consultant’s position on the team. The Insite attempted to talk with Dixon and Linden on the record about the fall out but so far they are not speaking publicly about this issue. The Insite also left messages for the public relations department at the Comets/Rockets office but so far no return call. The Insite hears some of the parties involved may consider legal action to resolve the matter that has festered for months now. I would love to hear the Comets!
