Former Texas Governor Mark White didn’t have to be summoned to court to testify in the ongoing criminal trial of Dr. Priscilla Slade, he volunteered. White says he called Slade’s attorney Mike DeGeurin and offered to testify. He wanted to explain to jurors what it takes for a university president to raise private funds at a school like TSU. White told the panel how important it is for a university President to have a nice presidential home to raise money from the private sector. But the Governor said he could not speak to the guilt or innocence of Dr. Slade. He also said he did not know DeGeurin or Slade personally. White’s appearance on the stand was no longer than 30 minutes.
