BATON ROUGE TURNS OUT FOR SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY HOMECOMING PARADE!

HOMECOMING WEEKEND IN BATON ROUGE, LA!

Thousands of people lined Scenic Highway early Saturday morning for the annual event. That event is the Southern University Homecoming Parade. It’s part of the big countdown to the homecoming game at A.W. Mumford stadium. Southern took and lost to Alabama. Back to the parade. It began at 8 am and snaked down Scenic Highway twice. There were lots of familiar faces at the parade including former Insite columnist Michael Gildon and his family. I also ran into old high school classmates Terrence Patterson and Charisma Sambo. I spotted my nephew Dedrick Gourrier on one of the floats. Also rapper Webbie was scene on the MAX 94 float with the likes of Big Cheeze also from Max 94. At the game I snapped pictures of board member Tony Clayton and SU System President Dr. Ralph Slaughter. They both posed with Louisiana Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu. Here are the photos the Insite snapped!
