An Insite friend and reader wants to share this experience with readers to ensure this doesn’t happen to you. It’s a reminder of what I went through in 2005. Beware of the black Hummer too:
Belated Happy Birthday! I am sorry I missed your birthday party. I would’ve been there if my car wasn’t burglarized Friday evening. This happened in front of the River Oaks Post Office on West Gray while I was inside picking up my mail. The thieves smashed the passenger side front window and stole my purse. All my credit cards, digital camera, digital voice recorder, Blackberry, TDL, checkbook and other items were in my purse. Incredibly the whole thing happened only in about 20 seconds. I saw a very nice shiny Black Hummer parked next to my car when I came out of the post office, and they immediately sped away. They were obviously waiting for a target and I happened to be there at the right time for them. I heard of auto break-ins taking place at gas stations. However, I thought this sort of thing would never happen to someone like me who is informed and always careful. I learned that anyone can be a potential victim to the bad guys nowadays. All women out there should be extremely careful. I spent much time and effort all day Saturday, getting a new window replaced in my car, cancelling credit cards, checking account, and Blackberry service, etc. Since I closed my checking account, I was broke on the weekend, which seemed so long.
