IS IT TIME FOR BANKS TO STEP UP THEIR GAME?

WOULD YOU WANT MORE FROM YOUR BANK TO KEEP YOU COMING BACK?

I made a stop at a local bank branch on Friday. I noticed the bank had one of those daily giveaways for customers of the branch. It wasn’t a diamond necklace, or a trip to Cancun, or a $1000 certificate of deposit. It was a $29.00 dvd player. I was shocked. I can recall long ago hearing people talking about the toaster giveaways at the banks. But I thought by the year 2007 a bank would upgrade and give away more than a $29.00 dvd player. And who doesn’t already have a dvd player? It’s like trying to giveaway a record player in the 70’s. You already know everyone has one.
