PARAMEDIC ARRESTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY!

HUNDREDS OF IMAGES OF CHILDREN ON HIS COMPUTER!

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s Cyber Crimes Unit has arrested John Eric Gilliam, a City of Seminole paramedic, for possession and transportation of child pornography.

Gilliam, 39, was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury in Midland after Cyber Crimes Unit investigators allegedly uncovered hundreds of child pornography images on Gilliam’s computer. The state’s investigation was sparked by a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Gilliam’s prosecution is being handled by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton’s office.

The case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative that encourages the use of multi-jurisdictional task forces to investigate and prosecute the online sexual exploitation of children. In Texas, the attorney general’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, one of almost 50 federally funded task forces across the country dedicated to this project, provides investigative assistance with these cases.
