ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH BAZAAR!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE CHURCH BAZAAR?

It was back in 1981 when The Insite attended my last church bazaar. Until Sunday I’d forgotten about the fundraising event given annually and sometimes quarterly by the local catholic church in the parish. I grew up on church bazaars at St. Agnes, St. Francis and St. Gerard in Baton Rouge. I got a call from friends on Sunday here in Houston to attend what they called St. Mary’s event. It was until I got there that I realized exactly what it was. It was another catholic church bazaar. Boy, did it bring back memories from my childhood days in Baton Rouge. As many of you know Louisiana is ruled by Catholicism. So anyone from Louisiana who hasn’t heard of a church bazaar is not from Louisiana. Anyway, St. Mary’s big weekend event in the Third Ward was quite an impressive fundraiser. The Insite ran into a lot of familiar faces including Judge Levi and Janis Benton, Milton Thibodeaux (St. Mary’s Finance Council), Kathy Griffin Townsend, Anzell ‘International Red’ Jennings, Carl Daniel, Terry, Dana Davis and the list goes on. I snapped some pics to place here on The Insite. Oh, before I forget, I also ran into the GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies On Wheels)!
