FROM INSITE READER: WE STILL HAVEN’T LEARNED!

SHOULD T-SHIRTS PROMOTE A COUGH SYRUP THAT HAS BEEN USED BY SOME AS A DRUG?

An Insite reader sent me a picture after reading about rapper Pimp C’s death. He died as a result of a deadly mix of codeine cough syrup and a pre-existing medical condition. That Insite reader said we as African Americans haven’t learned our lesson even after the death of several high profile rappers. That lesson is not to promote the (cough) syrup or purple stuff. The reader apparently found this guy on a local website in a purple shirt that’s glorifying the syrup. What do you think about someone who wears a t-shirt that celebrates drug use that has taken many lives including high profile entertainers. Is the Insite reader right for claiming some African Americans never learn?
