The Party King had the delight of seeing Bun B live in concert Friday night. TRILL is the one word that comes to mind to describe the historic experience. What makes this event so historic is the fact that this was rap icon Bun B’s first performance since the December 4, 2007 death of Chad Butler (Pimp C) the other half of the legendary rap group UGK. Bun B performed at Warehouse Live in front of a standing room only jam packed audience. Bun B showed the crowd that he is going to keep on pushing even after the recent loss of his brother in rhyme. Although gone, definitely not forgotten Pimp C was on the minds of all in attendance as many in the crowd paid their respects and showed their love for the artist, friend, and family member by adorning a wide variety of R.I.P. Pimp C shirts. Go DJ HI- C was the DJ of choice that rocked the crowd prior to the concert and between acts. DJ HI- C paid tribute to UGK and Pimp C by constantly teasing the crowd by playing snippets and samples from the artist’s vast library of hit songs. There were several performers that opened up for Bun B including Bankroll Jones, and Corey Mo to name a few. What seemed like the whole Rap A Lot family took the stage to support their label as he prepared to take the stage. Bun B’s performance was nothing short of breathtaking as he performed classic UGK songs, songs from his first solo project Trill and songs from his upcoming April 1, 2008 album Trill II. Slim Thug “The Boss” even took the stage to perform the smash Hit “I Aint heard of That” with Bun B. There were truly too many notable individuals to name who came out to pay tribute and support Bun B. However, The Party King did notice James Prince, Mama Wes (Pimp C’s mother), Steve Francis, Willie D, Z-Ro, Pimpin Ken, Brother J (X Clan) , Mike Jones, Billy Cook, Naztradmas (Cypher Cesshun), Omar, Xavier, The Grit Boys, Go DJ Reggie Regg, International Red, Bone , Go DJ J. Boss, Killa Kyleon, J Que(97.9 The Box) J Mac (97.9 The Box) backstage just to name a few!
