Baton Rouge police now say the investigation into the deadly shootings at Louisiana Technical College shows that shooting suspect Latina Williams had no permanent residence and was apparently living out of her car.
Police say she had not spoken to her family in Mississippi much in the past two years. She also had recently displayed signs of paranoia and losing touch with reality.
According to investigators, Williams recently gave away or sold several possessions. She bought the .357 revolver and a box of ammunition at a pawn shop in New Orleans the day before the shootings.
Investigators also believe she called a crisis counselor anonymously on the morning of the shootings indicating that she was planning to take her own life. Police say a suicide note has not been located so far.
Police also say the specific motive behind the shooting remains unknown and may never be known. Investigators say they have found no connections between the suspect and the victims that would help understand why they were killed. The investigation is continuing.
