Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal Resigns!

THE END HAS COME FOR THE CAREER PROSECUTOR!

The Insite hears DA Chuck Rosenthal is resigning from office. He has submitted a letter of resignation to the Governor’s office. Rosenthal cited his recent email scandal and impaired judgment for reasons to step down. Rosenthal has worked in the Harris County district attorney’s since 1977. He has served as the chief prosecuotor for 8 years…No comment from Rosenthal so far. The Insite will keep you updated!

Update: The Harris County Republican party tells The Insite they will make a recommendation to the Governor’s office for Rosenthal’s replacement. Jared Woodfill and Paul Bettencourt say that recommendation will be that no one who is currently seeking the office for DA be considered. Woodfill says Rosenthal’s first assistant should be considered temporarily then someone with no ties to Rosenthal should be brought in. Bettencourt says it would be an unfair advantage to appoint a current candidate to the position!
