INSITE INVESTIGATION: SUPER NASTY HOT DOG BUNS!

A RIGHT AND A WRONG WAY TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO FIX THEIR HOT DOGS!

I made a stop at the Shell gas station in the Woodlands Wednesday morning when I noticed something very disturbing. There were several landscapers all reaching their hands into a single bag of hot dog bun’s and preparing their lunch. Bun’s placed their by the store for their customers. What’s wrong with that you say? The problem is several people hands have gone into one bag and soon each person will eat the buns. Do you know how many germs you can pass around that way? On my way to work I decided to call the Montgomery County Health Inspectors in Conroe to determine if some rules were being violated. Rubin Martinez told me the store was in fact violating health code. The county health worker said the hot dog buns should be individually pre-wrapped for the customers. That would prevent someone’s hands from going onto all the other buns. Martinez said he was going to send a health inspector by the store to ensure Shell workers take care of the problem. I also made a stop by a local Valero where I noticed the hot dog buns (pictured right) were individually wrapped as prescribed by health inspectors. Would you every buy a hot dog where everyone sticks their hand into a bun bag? The Insite would love to hear your opinion on this health issue!
