Community leader and former District Attorney Carol Vance has endorsed Kelly Siegler as the best choice to be Harris County’s next top prosecutor. For 21 years, as an assistant district attorney, Kelly Siegler has successfully prosecuted some of Harris County’s toughest cases. Vance said in a written statement. “During this time, she has held important administrative positions, including serving as the Chief of the Special Crimes Bureau, which handles difficult and complex matters.”
Vance, who served as the county’s top prosecutor from 1966 until 1979, added: “Kelly has the integrity, the ability and the experience that is essential to run the office of District Attorney of Harris County.”
Siegler, who is a candidate for Harris County District Attorney in the March 4th Republican Primary, said she was proud to receive Vance’s support because the entire community knows him as a leader with integrity and an unshakeable reputation for fairness.
He was a criminal justice pioneer as Harris County District Attorney,” Siegler said. “He’s someone this community always turns to for sound guidance. To have his support is an honor and I think it speaks volumes about who is the best qualified candidate in this race.”
Siegler has a nationwide reputation for toughness, tenacity and courtroom skill. Her real work on behalf of crime victims and her years of fighting for justice have translated into massive waves of support from law enforcement officers and the groups that represent them.
